Cookie Walk

What is it? Not your average bake sale! Cookie Walk is an annual Christmas-season event Lake Edge organizes to raise money for missions. Customers come from all over the Madison area to walk amongst the tables and choose their own assortment from hundreds of different kinds of festive holiday cookies; they pay by the pound. Stained-glass candy and apple pies are also for sale. Lake Edge folks contribute the home-baked goodies, and it's also a chance for the many chefs of Lake Edge to swap recipes and have fun cooking together.

When? The 15th annual Cookie Walk will be December 5, 2009.

Why? The money goes to the missions Lake Edge supports, such as the Lake Edge Women's Fellowship scholarship fund, area food pantries, Triangle Community Ministry, WilMar and others.

Who? Organizers are Jan Zimmerman 249-7831 and Kathy Borner 839-3540

How you can help

  • Bake cookies, cookies, cookies!
  • Bake cookies at home and bring them in
  • Bake at church -- learn a fancy cookie and have fun with fellow chefs at one of the cookie workshops
  • Volunteer on the organizing committee, for set-up, and/or on the day of the Cookie Walk
  • Not into baking? There will be plenty of non-baking volunteer jobs
  • Buy and eat!
  • Cookies make great gifts, too!
