Sunday Youth Breakout Sessions

During the Sunday School time slot (10:05-10:50 a.m. between worship services), youth coordinator Kerstin Smith offers a youth breakout session for high school students and 8th graders. Youth will gather in the Music Room to focus on the theme of hunger and sustainable living this year. Through scripture sharing, discussions, the arts and..... The focus of the group is driven by the youth and so the schedule will be determined as we go.

The rough outline of the schedule is:

  • September: Orientation, getting acquainted, and deciding where the group wants to go.
  • October: Feed the Children
  • November/December: Christmas musical – work on sound, lights, costumes, and participate in the musical.
  • January/February/March: Kids write and direct and preform a dramatic presentation for the lenten/Easter season.
  • April: Confirmation Presentation
  • May: Evaluations and party
