Craft Retreat

A few times a year crafters and artists of Lake Edge get together for a craft retreat. Our most recent one was in April 2009; the next one is not yet scheduled. But, you can e-mail coordinator Cindy Rosch anytime to get on the e-mail list so you can be sure to be invited to the next one. This e-mail list is also a good way to get "in the loop" for craft-type ad hoc projects such as church banner-making that might come up.

What IS a "craft retreat"?
What crafters often need most is TIME. The retreat helps carve out time to dedicate to a project. Artists and crafters of all kinds bring whatever they're working on, set up at tables and spend time working on their own projects -- painting, beading, writing, journaling, sewing, quilting, knitting. It's also a chance to see what others are doing, chat about projects and fellowship together over meals. The retreat includes a few short prayer sessions, spiritual reflections about creativity, and silent time.

Retreats usually begin on a Friday evening and continue through Saturday afternoon. Some have been overnight retreats at the UCC retreat center, Pilgrim Center; others have been at Lake Edge.
